Bonaparte can dish it out, but can they take it? Answer: Yes, they can!

The theme for the Krewe of Bonaparte’s 2026 ball and pageant was “Bonaparte Dishes It Out.” The krewe, whose members are known for their love of amusement and whimsy, really took it to the next level. The ball was held on Lundi Gras, Feb. 16. Royalty paraded around the Cajundome Convention Center dressed as culinary themes from around the world. There was the Italian table set with wine and pizza, and Louisiana made the cut with a dancing Tabasco hot pepper.

We all know how a good restaurant can draw big crowds. This was true here as hundreds gathered to enjoy a Bonaparte party served with lots of side dishes. Those included beads, favors, and a band that got everyone dancing the night away.

L’Empereur Napolean XLIX Douglas Comeaux and his wife L’Imperatrice Josephine XLIX Rachel Comeaux reigned over the merriment in gorgeous red and gold royal attire. Josephine’s red and gold jeweled gown was particularly stunning. Many said they had been waiting years to see one of their most valuable Bonaparte devotees be honored. Rachel Comeaux’s work and dedication has helped the krewe and its ball grow into the hugely popular force that it is today.

When it comes to fun, Krewe de Bonaparte, not only can you dish it out, but you can take it to the next level. Félicitations pour cette nouvelle année de succès!
