Running the show

Kids will run Louisiana's Old State Capitol from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for an event spotlighting local kid makers plus adoptable CAAWS dogs. A kids market on the castle grounds will be selling items made by the kids themselves. Also check out dogs looking for their forever homes. .

A little retro fun

The nine-piece That '70s Band of Louisiana specializes in 1970s pop, funk and disco. The group performs hits from artists like Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Donna Summer, Chicago and more. Catch them at the Manship Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. $25-$45. .

Is that the school bell?

Progressive Baptist Church's Back 2 School Bash will take place at the church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Backpacks, school supplies, food, games, music, entertainment and giveaways — it's all free. Also, free haircuts for the first boys in line and prizes. .
