The International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo returned for another year, continuing a tradition that began in 1928. The rodeo is the oldest continuously running fishing tournament in the United States and remains a celebrated Louisiana coastal tradition. This year, anglers had the option to keep their catch instead of displaying it, marking a change from the event’s long-standing practice of showcasing catches. The weekend included crab races, live music, resources and food. 

Due to weather, Thursday of the tournament started slow, but started to pick up by Friday afternoon. The tournament ends Saturday evening.Â
